SINCERE REPENTANCE

Mankind has been highly favoured above other creatures - but mankind is not perfect. Our human imperfections do not save us from the consequences of our actions. All actions are either rewarded or punished (materially, spiritually or both) according to the intentions of the doer. Some repercussions can be temporary (limited to this world alone), eternal (extended or deferred to the hereafter) or shared between both. Belief in life after death is a major cornerstone of the Islamic creed. This logically explains the mystery that everybody will be rewarded or punished for all their actions, even if it appears that the doer did not get his due recompense in this world!

Our Creator, the Merciful God, created a window as part of His Majesty to allow us imperfect beings return to him whenever we stray off His path. This window is open to all believers - and the most important key to an acceptable repentance is REGRET and REMORSE! In fact, "REPENTANCE IS REGRET" as related from Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him). It is also interesting to note that an English dictionary defined REPENTANCE to be "A feeling of  REGRET or REMORSE for doing  WRONG or SINNING".

Hence, repentance cannot be deemed acceptable without REGRET or REMORSE! Every sinner must exhibit remorse and feel bad about any sinful act committed. He should detest the fact that he has committed a shameful act, even if it is concealed from people. He should not make an attempt to justify, defend, castigate or accuse anybody of any conspiracy if he believes in the day of judgement! He needs to humble himself in front of his creator to seek for forgiveness. While the exhibition of the regret is meant to be internal and spiritual, it is natural that human beings too will observe this regret through the reformed actions of the repentant one. Don't pretend to have repented without being remorseful. Don't let Shaytan deceive you into thinking that you don't owe anybody any apology - SINCERE REPENTANCE will reflect in your actions, speeches and posts!

My brethren! Don't trivialize any act of disobedience to your Creator! If you think you are smart in this world and can defend yourself, remember "The Day when all the secrets will be examined" when all mankind will stand before the Lord of all mankind, jinns and all that exists!

*REPENT SINCERELY AND RETURN TO YOUR LORD NOW!*

Your sense of judgement and fairness reflect your level of piety! The unity amongst the frontiers of Islam is currently a mirage and every Muslim is a victim of the weakness of our disunity. Judging from our history and the blessed writings of our scholars, Muslims cannot be truly united except on the pristine Islamic principles built on sound belief and doctrinal system - Aqeedah!
